Is it Happy Hump Day? Or just a sad Wednesday? Today was my last day at WCRL. This summer has been one for the books! Our very first day at WCRL, they sent us to a yard sale so we could call in and talk about all the items.. After that, I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but I knew it was going to be an interesting summer! From flying through thunderstorms, to convincing Robbie and Chris we needed our own show, I have enjoyed every minute of this summer. I will miss the interesting phone calls and all the random things to we managed to get into! I have learned so much! Including breakfast orders, how to edit my thoughts and words on the air, the song actually says “Dude looks like a lady” instead of  “Do it like a lady,” and the lyrics to Careless Whisper. Thanks for all the laughs on and off the air! And a very special thanks for coming through with the inflatable jousting arena!  This has been a summer I will never forget. Thank you, WCRL.

Well, Tuesday has come to a close, which can only mean one thing… Tomorrow is my last day at the station. This makes me so sad, but I’m not going to be sappy yet. I’ll save the waterworks for tomorrow. Today was a very busy fun filled day! This morning we had fun on The Morning Show talking about the cheeseburger challenge that was to occur at 3. We also talked about cheap date ideas which somehow led to Jeremy and Chris telling us about how they proposed to their wives. Everyone loves a good love story! Next, we did The Wrap Up Show where we begged our boss, on air, to rent an inflatable jousting arena for tomorrow. Us interns feel it’s only appropriate to celebrate a great summer with an office party! After The Wrap Up Show, we headed over to Stephen’s Diner where we filmed the first ever Stephen’s Cheeseburger Challenge! Jeremy Lesley v. Jeremy Hyde. A twenty-four ounce cheeseburger, one pound of fries and a thirty-two ounce milkshake.. And here’s the kicker. They had to finish all of it in twenty minutes. Needless to say, neither of the Jeremy’s were able to complete the challenge. They had to pay for their twenty-five dollar meal and have their pictures put on the wall of shame. At least they tried! Anyway, I’m not sure how it happened, but we actually convinced Boss Man to rent the inflatable jousting arena. So tomorrow is going to be a great last day!!!

It’s my last week here at WCRL! It makes me so sad that my internship is coming to an end, but it has been a great experience. Today, we discussed some Kardashian drama and the premiere of I am Cait. We also talked about Stephen’s Chesseburger Challenge that will occur tomorrow at 3 between Jeremy Lesley and Jeremy Hyde. Flapjacks and I even designed t-shirts for the event! We are so excited! Next hour, I will be recording a commercial for Blount County Tractor, an ad I sold last week. Only two more days here at the station…

FriYAY!!! Today was so much fun on The Morning Show. We did an entire segment about mine and Elyssa’s emotional experiences when we first moved to college. We also talked about our emotional roller coasters through relationship break ups. Jeremy and Chris swear they got abs from hearing us discuss our traumatic experiences. Another hilarious story this morning was about a couple in Florida selling tickets to Heaven. They said Jesus is the one who should be arrested…. Interesting!

Thursday was an interesting day here at WCRL. The Morning Show carried out as normal. The Wrap Up Show, however, was interrupted when Jeremy Lesley and Christy Brooks were arrested while we were on the air! No worries, they didn’t really do anything. They were arrested and held at the depot here in town along with over 100 others. Basically everyone in Oneonta, Alabama! Each person’s goal was to raise $1,400 to be released. All the money went to Muscular Dystrophy Association. Oneonta was able to raise around $20,000 for MDA. Great day in Oneonta!

Happy Hump Day! Yesterday was a great day in the studio, and today was another great day. Yesterday, the guys sent me on a breakfast run in the middle of the show. Once I got to Stephen’s Diner, he insisted the food was a gift from him because we do an entire segment for his commercial. Thank you, Stephen, for a delicious breakfast! Today, we had a lot of fun, especially when I found a Donald Trump Insult Generator. We used everyone’s names in the generator. I’m sure the listeners enjoyed hearing the lame comebacks produced by the generator. Also, Jeremy has decided to accept the Cheeseburger Challenge at Stephen’s Diner. He will go head to head with one of our listeners next Tuesday! Stay tuned for details!

Everyone must have had a great weekend because everyone in this studio is in the best mood! This is my last full week at the station.. I am so sad this fun internship is coming to a close… This morning we discussed the British Open where former UAB player, Paul Dunne, and former JSU player, Danny Willett are playing. So neat to have two players from Alabama playing in the Open! Chris wrapped up The Morning Show with his quote of the day. “I never said half the crap people said I did.” -Albert Einstein

FriYAY! A long week has come to a close. After three days of sales and everyday on The Morning Show, I was glad to finally return to The Wrap Up Show! Yesterday, I met an older gentleman who listens every single day. He was so excited to be able to put my face with the voice of ReRe. After meeting this man, I realized something interesting about radio. If you are a regular listener, you feel like you know exactly who you’re listening to. You hear stories, jokes, news and all kinds of things from voices, but sometimes have no clue who the person actually is. I loved getting to meet loyal listeners this week!

Happy Hump Day! Good morning from WCRL! Everyone always seems to be in a good mood on Wednesday! Today on The Morning Show, we talked about a lady in the UK with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Her condition requires her to shave her face three times a day. The lady is trying to get her health insurance to pay for laser hair removal. After The Morning Show, I headed out for day 2 of sales! When we returned to the car after our first stop, Christy’s door handle completely fell off her car… Thus ending our day!  I’ll be trying sales again tomorrow! Happy Hump Day!

Today was a long day! We had a guest in studio, Casey O’Toole. O’Toole graduated from Oneonta High school and played golf at Samford University. He has spent the last two years in Thailand playing golf on the Asian Development Tour. After The Morning Show, I went with Christy around town to local businesses. My boss thought I should learn both sides go business so today I was able to perfect my sales pitch!
